If I'm being completely honest, it's wildly rare for men to set her correctly. There are a tiny handful of good examples (Hundley's "Will There Really Be A Morning" comes to mind), but the vast majority either flatten her into Dainty Cute Flowers Girl or Melodramatic Sad Woman. Neither is any good.

It took a long time for Dickinson’s mind & sensibility to enrichen. Having men filtering didn’t help. I’ve done over 50 Dickinson settings. Some must be bad, but I try to vary them in hopes of hitting some blind target. Right now, I’m trying to breakout from a Dickinson spell.
