To those who say "It's fine, the corporations are motivated to avoid disease and can handle their own inspections," I really encourage you to read the report on the conditions discovered in the Boar's Head facility where the last listeria outbreak was traced. Mold on the walls was just the start.
It's also worth pointing out that QC people within the organization tend to fall back on federal regulations to get the bean counters to allow the plants do safe work. Otherwise things like "putting out non tainted food" is too damn expensive.
Unbelievable that anyone actually believes this in today's world Corporations are motivated to do whatever leaves them with the most money and nothing else, it is very simple!
Or just read The Jungle.
This isn’t even the first food manufacturer to do this! Blue Bell Ice Cream did the same thing last decade! www.delish.com/food-news/a4...
Welp, this totally undercuts its comeback.
Literally no corporations out there has any of its customers best interests in mind AND they've been telling us for years they would essentially sell us for parts if they didn't need us to buy from them. And people still think somehow the government is the bad party here.
