Yes. My mother is bedridden mostly due to general self-imposed deterioration & awful irascibility (all her carers hate her). Think she spends about $20K a month for 24/7 care. She was pretty well-off but is now at the point where she'll probably have to sell her house & go into a cheaper care home.
