as the protags confront their repressed desires for absolution / “emancipation”. However, in Metaphor there seems to be a relationship with reality, human suffering, and our own art / works of fiction. How they manifest / reflect the self and in turn create “archetypes”.
IN CONTRAST the Soulsborne series uses western mysticism and the pursuit of internal purity / ambition as a means to tug at the threads of the western cycle of suffering - I feel the Persona series has a more light hearted relationship with Jung 🧵
Tldr the persona series uses western mysticism (tarot, jungian archetypes, the shadow realm where the repressed shadow self exists, the heroes journey/monomyth etc). 🧵
Shoutout to Em for the Bosch paintings clock in Metaphor: ReFantazio. I definitely feel there’s a narrative reason for this brewing but I won’t say anything. 😈 I do want to break down these designs though!
