(a mix of state and private). You can't have Socialism unless the workers, not the state, not private owners or investors, own the means of production. If you're paying for social needs with Capitalist profits, as many European countries do (Canada too), that doesn't mean it is Socialism,

it just means you have a more equal and caring society paid for by Capitalism's profits.
