At 2pm on the 15th September, we will be gathering at the Bandstand in Ballybricken to stand together as a diverse, welcoming community in direct opposition to a proposed gathering of far right, and fascist organisers and their supporters from around the country. (3/5)

(12/13) Our response was written by members who are people with disability, carers and people without disability. We have also had external input from others with disabilities. We would like to extend an enormous thank you to all those who contributed.

(11/13) The proposed rates (€220, €242.65, and €265.30) fall far short of the estimates needed to escape relative poverty. The government, with this Green Paper, is condemning people with disability to poverty.

(10/13) Under the tiered model as proposed in the Green Paper, a person would be easily identifiable as having a disability with a high, medium or low level of support needs, contravening their right to privacy in health-related matters.

(9/13) The three-tiered model proposed in the Green Paper is repugnant. The concept of classifying individuals is barbaric. We advocate for an individualised and person-centred approach that takes account of the many and varied complexities of a person’s experience with disability.
