Surrounded by family and close friends, with my last ounce of strength I manage to whisper, "Boy George went to the Napalm Death gig in Brisbane." My soul leaves my body and I depart from this world

I think I have successfully weirded out a tinder match, but it feels more like a bug than a failed skill check. Not 24 hours ago she was describing how burning human flesh smells, so she should be able to handle me referencing the Unabomber's manifesto. That seems fair

Got the ā€œSoā€¦ whatā€™s your fave position?ā€ text today while blasting black metal and let me tell you, I was caught completely rizzless and had to turn the music off to answer. You canā€™t dirty talk with Necrot Goatshoof screeching about elves in the background

The asshole critic in me wants to say this is much better than it has any right to be, but who am I to say such a thing? Richard Patrick played live guitar for Nine Inch Nails, and I did countless takes on the single LP Iā€™ve ever performed on and sounded, well, like that. Anyway, this is pretty good

Curiosity got the best of me and Iā€™m listening to the new Filter album. Iā€™ve been transported to central Jersey circa 1996, listening to K-Rock through my shitty boombox in my bedroom. Some new ingredients in the mix now like djent which, get this, is tastefully employed. I thought that was illegal

Verdict: itā€™s good. Not the album of the year I was hoping for, will probably upset the olds with how different their approach is on this record, and that alone is worth something. Alife, Kisses and The Slab are all worthy additions to their live set list. The rest is good but not great. And done.

Last song, another prerelease track. It was kinda in one ear and out the other the first time I heard it but it works better within the album. More drums on this one, something to latch onto. I really like the progression of the verse. Actually, all of this is finally hitting the spot for me.

Okay, itā€™s kinda just another jammy vibe piece assembled from loops moreso than a fleshed-out song, which again is something Iā€™d say for about half of the record. Still, itā€™s nice.
