Timothy Snyder says “Don’t give up in advance.” I understand the temptation. But that helps them win. Find something that gives you hope and focus on it.
Oh that is *awful*.
I wanted Walz to be more aggressive but I'm not going to pretend it's somehow a big failure to *not* look like a trained lawyer. He looks and sounds genuine. JD Vance sounds like he could be defending asbestos as perfectly safe. Pundits like the latter, but a lot of the public likes the former.
With that being said: 1. Again, this isn't Walz's fault - we know he's good at this. The questions and structure of this debate is a mess. 2. We know what's going to come next. Pundits are going to pounce on this. Consider this an early reminder to ignore the noise, and do the work.
first thing walz should have said was: “my opponent will sound smooth and polished with his Yale degree and long career in the rooms of the rich, but every word that will come out of his mouth will be a lie, and it will have to be, because he is defending Donald Trump”
I’m watching the C-SPAN YouTube channel and it’s tolerable.
'Open border' is just code for 'I don't like the people coming in' + 'I want more restrictions.' The same people I heard yapping about open borders lost their fucking minds over an American violating border controls in other countries during the covid state of emergency.
IF YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT MEXICAN DRUG CARTELS LET’S REGULATE GUNS BECAUSE THEY GET THEIR GUNS FROM US
There is no such thing as a wide open border. The border is incredibly not open. It’s so closed. It’s just a lie. Why. WHY. Are we pretending that this is a real thing. It’s false.
Oh my tenses are not agreeing at all. Time for bed. But maybe I should just stop calling myself a “convert”. It’s more like “return from Evangelical exile.” 😂
