Depends on the metric but in some ways yes. Also you can (and should) use them for sweeter dishes, not as a substitute for potatoes.

you could eat nothing but sweet potatoes for the rest of your life and never get any nutrient deficiencies. they also produce more calories per hour of labor than any other crop, and they have pretty pretty flowers. but that's all over now because of cancel culture
