THE MOST SATISFYING PARAGRAPH

The Bonds have paid a price for their actions, which they acknowledged in the consent agreements.

They paid $4,500 to resolve Maine Board of Pesticides Control Board violations for unauthorized use of an herbicide that was applied inappropriately and not allowed for residential use, $180,000 to resolve violations with the town and another $30,000 for additional environmental testing, according to documents. They also paid more than $1.5 million to Gorman in a legal settlement, according to a memo from Jeremy Martin, the town's planning and development director.

LOTS of tree drama in Berkeley what with with rich hill folks wanting Bay views I am always legit baffled since trees are also a view People are damn weird ... I'm down in the flats and my views are other people's homes, apartments, and sometimes, when I'm very lucky, a tree!

I love how much people love trees and hate people who hate them.

Oh, they poisoned trees that belonged to an heir of L.L. Bean? In Maine? It’s a wrap, they’ll be shunned forever.

A guy did that in my neighborhood. He bought the biggest house and wanted to add a second driveway, but the city wouldn't give permission to cut down a 100 yo oak tree, so he poisoned it.

Comic by redditor u/reachling

First pane, a man is standing over a fresh stump, bemoaning the untimely death of a rare cherry tree his grandmother brought over from "the old country", just one week after his new neighbors complained it was blocking their view.

Panels two through five are various lawyers appearing from the bushes, fence, under the stump, all saying "tree law? Tree law!"

The final panel shows a mob of lawyers, bearing pitchforks and torches and carrying the man on their shoulders. They are cheerfully chanting TREE LAW TREE LAW TREE LAW while cash rains down upon them from the heavens
