Today's historic pic: 35 years ago today, Melbourne W2 class tram 321, built in 1925 by Holden in Adelaide, runs on the MOTAT tramway in Auckland, New Zealand, October 8 1989. The line is now 1.7km long and 321 still runs. MOTAT opened on October 14 1964 so will celebrate its 60th birthday next week

On a very wet, heavily overcast day, a Melbourne W2 class tram running on a single track dual gauge tramway set in concrete in parkland and running a along the side of a road. The tram is displaying route 72 with a destination of Camberwell.
