I started warning & preparing as soon as I saw a respiratory virus with an R of 2-3 was circulating in China right at Lunar New Year. My roommate thought I was trying to scare her into not kicking me out for calling her an alcoholic. We had the first (documented) case in the US a couple weeks later.

March 13th is the day everything stopped. My kid’s teachers had been sending them home with all their books for a week, preparing them to go online. Husband’s work was on alert too. There were at still people who were surprised. My cousin thought I was prescient. Lol.

Yeah, I had been doing home delivery groceries for years already, and just quietly started adding a few extra items to every order starting in December or January. I was fully (over)stocked by the shutdown. Never came close to running out of TP. I studied supply chains in college.
