this is why the transporter had to go on the blink in Star Trek. Useful not to have to have shuttle sets and shuttle scenes but hell on the rest of the plot.

way back when my boss was a C4 quad in an electric wheelchair we had to carry him and chair up steps to meetings more than once. Amazing how many places had lifts but steps to the entrance!

Have to think about era. The bejewelled sword is a very late idea when swords were mostly worn for show. (Smallsword and very late rapier). When the people wearing them expected to use them now they wore the real thing. Even non fancy were expensive though so yes a class marker.

side swords were superseded by rapiers in the civilian context I think because rapiers are cut AND thrust weapons and thrust is faster and more precise and has a longer range than cut. Rapiers were seldom used on their own, needs a dagger for close ranges . Also no armour being worn.

Two handers are a battlefield weapon needing a lot of room to start and keep moving. Used to open a space against multiple opponents. If you can't keep it moving you are vulnerable to closer range attacks. In a civilian context used as a crowd control and guard weapon. (Low status....)

Ebook available in Oz as The Secret Countess. So presumably the UK contract covers us as well. You'll just have to come back here and get a copy. (There will be a way!)

First job: get rid of first past the post voting. Proper preferential voting isn't perfect but is does get you the least hated candidate.
