A lot of it feels like the natural outcome of hyper individualized rhetoric for decades where all identities are basically just seen as fucking scams. 'They lie about being oppressed? Let's lie about their crimes. They can do it, let's do it back'

That's the lesson the right takes away from struggles around race and queernees and gender, they make up a 'race card' so we gotta make a card that beats their card, etc

They also lie based on "the other side does it" without any proof thereof. So not always lying to counter a lie, but lying to counter the false belief in other lies. It's wild.
