ah. hm. seems i didn't play the last knights event after all. i'm sure this will all make perfect sense
First insulin injection in 1922 -> "A 25-year-old woman with type 1 diabetes started producing her own insulin less than three months after receiving a transplant of reprogrammed stem cells. She is the first person with the disease to be treated using cells that were extracted from her own body."🧪⚕️
She is the first person with type 1 diabetes to receive this kind of transplant.
honestly scientists getting directly paid for papers would solve the problem of "the best way to make end's meet is get a pharma patent" so
i don't know how we build a system that rewards good science and not just the volume of publications but we need it urgently
that there were more faked results in alzheimer's research specifically is devastating in part because it's so hard to pivot, and it's gonna be years until labs are truly able to correct for this misinformation, if you're willing to pivot at all (and some people won't be!)
science is slow-moving in a lot of ways so a lot of stuff looking into the amyloid hypothesis is still underway because the grants and studies were already in place and the incentives are such that "not publishing" isn't really an option, which is gonna lead to more of this
saw this go by initially and was like "oh are we talking about the amyloid hypothesis again" but NO this is DIFFERENT FRAUD this is a nightmare
YES PLEASE I'LL DO ANYTHING
A top European auto safety body is releasing new rules that will require physical buttons and knobs for key vehicle features to receive a full five-star safety rating. I’d like to see the same in North America.
Euro NCAP will release new testing guidelines in 2026.
pretty sure being under a weighted blanket helps me focus, which is why it should be illegal to be above 60 degrees outside
