Language comes into play in the tension between Italian and Sard (wish I had the Italian to read the original), and the broader gulf between island life and "the continent". The glossary made me hungry.

This is a double #WITmonth title as it's also been translated into Irish (by Máire Nic Mhaoláin, published by Éabhlóid) which makes perfect sense when family and land and death and secrets are central themes.
