It should apply to people, and yet the people of Palestine do not have that right. People don't want us to exist. They even get mad when we die, because it makes them look bad. They want us to not exist anymore. They wish we had never existed. And it's just agreed that our existence is a problem.
This seems the true underlying cause of conflict from everything I have heard over the decades directly from people involved. Many Palestinians do hate Israeli's, for the things done to them, and this is very understandable. Many Israeli's hate Palestinians specifically because they exist.
