Oh this one actually makes sense. Misusing "id." makes it hard to follow and understand what's being referred to, as the court noted. I'm glad it wasn't something actually persnickety

For a lot of folks, especially law students just learning citation format, it's hard to know when the rule is just "Well, we need to have some answer here, so let's pick something" or when it actually substantively matters.
