I really enjoy listening to audiobooks, but I also can’t really listen to an audiobook for a book I haven’t read before without getting completely lost.

Same here, it gets worse if the audiobook is in English (my second language)

for me audiobooks have to be contemporary or romance ones, anything more complicated than that I get lost really easily. when i was listening to the expanse audiobooks I had to be still and not doing anything else lol

the fear of this being the case for me is the primary reason audio books are a non-starter for me.
