My biggest issue with AI evangelism in our industry is that it treats creativity like a problem to be solved, and not an adventure to be had.
The issue isn't a lack of creativity, there's and infinite well of it. It's that many of the people with creativity can't afford to pursue their ideas, due to things like "rent" and "food" Like all that ai money could have been used for scholarships/grants to artists in fields you want. *sigh*
90% of tech development rn is solutions in want of a problem, because solving problems that actually exist is realy hard and boring

Exactly! I think of making art as an activity, as the process itself, the painting just the result at the end of the journey. Being grateful to be able to skip the process is like being happy that you can get some travel pics without wasting time actually visiting places. The journey was the point!
Capitalism can only exist with exploitation. Thats how it grows, and as the tumor has now consumed every other aspect of our waking lives, it sets its gaze upon the next frontier: the infinite realm of imagination. It will aggressively expand into and monetize creativity until we all think the same.
The problem, as it is many times, is capitalism and greed. Chasing lower costs for production, and higher rates of production, for marginally more (expected) profit, losing sight of the actual product itself. Automating a product that should never be automated.
Creativity is a “problem” in the industry because of the time it takes to finish the product before they can sell it, the faster you can churn your goods the faster you can sell it. Art takes time which companies don’t have. To be clear, I hate that it’s come down to this.

There’s also a very weird subsection of people who see art as something gatekept from them due to the fact that they can’t draw or write, when the reality is they can just do it. Learn. Sure, you won’t be perfect day one, but that’s the point.
I love improving my work with each drawing, and knowing that even if it needs more work or time, it's still 100% mine.
