In those days there wasn’t much other than the Susan Cooper books, Wrinkle in Time, and LOTR. I ended up skipping MG/YA offerings and scholastic book fairs by the time I was 10-11.

This hasn’t changed - as an early teen in the mid-80s, the scholastic fair and library features a slew of books that were about teens dying from cancer and losing their parents. Not much else. It was depressing - and almost certainly why I turned to the classics.

Hope I’m nowhere near Hadrian’s Wall.😖

It’s FAF (Fart Around Friday) - having supper this evening with my old neighbours who adopted us as family. That, and work has slowed a bit so I can get back to writing/drawing.

Samesies. That’s a good month at the office.

I promise I won’t. But I once closed a 6-figure/year software licensing deal in the ladies room at a pub, literally chatting stall to stall with the decision maker. I’m sure the drinks helped. My colleague outside was planning to ask for the business after the pee-parade.🤣
