I would like to tell you a story about American Jews and American Muslims. 🧵 7 years ago my husband and I took the job as the rabbis of our synagogue in Reno. In the years before we got there, the congregation had decided to sponsor a Syrian Muslim refugee family.

Our congregation had provided legal help, money, furniture, and everything else that this family needed. When the family showed up shortly around when we did, the congregation threw a huge party to celebrate their entrance to the United States.
