Good news from @nuffieldtrust.bsky.social: as air quality has improved, less children have been admitted to hospital for asthma attacks. This is even more noticeable in deprived areas. While correlation doesn't equal causation, we know how important cleaning up our air is for our health and planet.

It also is a good reminder that public health interventions can have a real impact: it is likely that the reduction in UK smoking rates from 20% to 13% in this time also contributed to the decrease in childhood asthma attacks, alongside other factors.
