But it is what it is. And I admit part of me is almost glad to go back, and return to my normal routine.
This time, of course it will be worse, because everybody is going to want to hear the story about what happened to Mom. And before my vacation, my social battery was already starting to fizzle out; after this week, it’s more drained than ever
As always, I’m dreading the return. The lady who was covering for me will have done her best I’m sure, but I know I will be terribly behind on a good number of things.
I’m back to work tomorrow after being off last week for vacation. Though of course with Mom in the hospital, last week in no way, shape, or form resembled anything remotely like an actual vacation.
Best part was a lady in the parking lot came up and asked if I wanted a flyer with the recommended Republican choices. I gave her a big smile and said, “Absolutely not.”

And then you bring Loved One home, and you get their meds and you get them settled in, and suddenly you look around and its like you're seeing your surroundings for the first time. Because you are. Because you've been living underwater. But sometimes, you get lucky. Sometimes you get to come home.
