i was informed my WFH accommodation, which i've been discussing with the ABK Accomodations Team since February, was denied shortly before receiving this email, by the way.
reminder that i was told by my local employee relations that ABK's entire Accommodations Team is staffed by one person. for the whole company. okay. i have to be done now because i'm just making myself more sick being upset about it. making myself log off. back to work in 20 minutes :')
It's become increasingly clear to me that ABK's trajectory/long-term plan for their QA teams - including Blizzard, where this is happening as well - is to slowly worsen conditions for FTE QA until they voluntarily quit; and rather than backfill, replace those workers with contract outsourcing.
On November 30th, Activision QA employees in Minneapolis, Austin, and El Segundo received an email announcing that hybrid work will be ended in January for QA employees. Below is our statement regarding this decision.
