Watching Paralympic closing coverage last night and was honestly moved to tears when as part of the GB summary the (disabled) presenter explained how important it is not to use the positivity to ignore the fact that life is still generally basically shit here for disabled people.

Just that level of honesty is rare. He used the word shit. It means a lot. Because it is fucking shit.

I was staggered by earlier observation of a presenter saying that UK has 16Mill disabled people. Until that moment I have never considered myself disabled though I have restricted movement in my left arm. Upon checking para categories I found I would be in the parallel female category as Matt Bush
