What I use for themes currently is a combination of Winstep Xtreme and BBlean with OpenShell for the start menu and Directory Opus for the Explorer alternative because Windows Explorer has and always will suck ass in comparison to DO and Total Commander.

Minimalist UIs don't appeal to me at all I'm afraid. Mostly because they're just too... Bland and lifeless, I guess? Take for example the god-awful Metro theme of Windows 8, 10 and 11. Windows 11 made that theme even worse with... Rounded edges and flat colors. Eugh.

I'm not too big on the GUI of most Linux distros. It's a little too simplified for my tastes and that's not my thing. The ideal interface for me is something straight out of a 2000s Winstep or BlackBox theme and none of the themes I've found for most distros I've looked through scratch that itch.

Imagine not using something like this or an older version of Dreamweaver to edit your sites. It's the way the internet was meant to be made, not with these crappy hipster pre-made site creators.

How it feels watching all the fearmongering wannabe OSINT dipshits on Xhitter and here panicking over WW3 because Iran fired more missiles at a non-descript military target again (they don't know Iran has been doing that for years and just want to scare people because it's easy engagement farming).

Corpos are basically the major issue with this because I can definitely see them not doing anything to prevent that kinda shit nor will they have contingency plans in mind for when said things do go down because they're technologically-illiterate.

And if we end up with cybernetics that are linked to a central server because you know some corpo fuck would try that, then a single cord being tripped over, ransomware effecting the server or a corrupted server could spell doom for anyone that has them.

Yeah, that's kinda an issue with relying on wi-fi connections for that because not only can bad updates or outdated firmware fuck over people, but also I can see (again) IRL hackers exploiting that. There's a meme about uploading .ZIP bombs to brainchips but I feel like that honestly could happen.

As for IRL if cybernetics get to the point to where we can get augmentations, I personally feel that it won't make us less human. The thing I'd worry more about is if said cybernetics had active wi-fi connections or were linked to a mobile device because then that just leads to IRL quickhacks.
