Like with much else I really hope if Trump wins that U.S. federalism will prove to be a major roadblock to his and Vance and Heritage's deranged schemes, but even then it will be faculty and staff in red states and likely "reddish-purple" states who will suffer.

And I think a lot of blue-staters are frankly naive about what this will mean. One of my last interactions on Twitter before I quit was with a bunch of Resistance liberals who couldn’t understand why red-state faculty wouldn’t just move — they refused to accept that they wouldn’t find jobs.
