hey! great news for y’all, your participants & community as a whole! i’m not sure if DC allows testing strips or not, but this post in a short thread i did awhile back offers starting points on the national level for searching more specifically in your area.

fentanyl test strips -- how do they work? like a pregnancy test for drugs & pretty quick to get results; meaning it only detects presence of fentanyl; not the analogue or precursor, nor amount & potency. Also, “negative” means none of the analogues or precursors it’s designed to detect are present. only testing residue/rinse with added water, you won’t be wasting your drugs on this; use the cooker, the baggie it came in, the card/razor you cut up with, etc. BTNX also has a demo video on their site!
the process of testing and reading results includes a step by step infographic for using the test strips & i added easier to read simplified text for the instructions: 1) add water to the residue in the baggie or cooker 2) add a few drops of (preferably sterile) water into container you’re testing out of. most of the time, you don’t need much water; however, add a bit extra water to dilute more for meth and MDMA since they can pop false positives if not diluted enough. 3) swish the water around to mix the residue/rinse with it 4) hold the darker color end of the strip & insert the other end in the liquid no higher than the cut off point (indicated on the strip) 5) after the strip absorbs the water it’s testing, there will be results within 2-5 minutes. 6) one red line = positive for fentanyl; two red lines leans closer to “negative” but with the ever changing market, still advised to use caution regardless.
