As a biblical (and a Pauline) scholar who preaches, this is how I approach both realms.

If I could infuse one principle from contemporary biblical studies into TEC preaching, this would be it. ⚓️ We don’t actually know—in a historical sense—what Paul meant, let alone Jesus. We can—we must—figure out what work their words are doing in our communities, in our time.
