I love console, and the form factor of the original Nintendo Gameboy Advance…. But the screen ! Has there been a worse screen to ship with a handheld ?

I own most of the Analogue FPGA consoles, but I’m secretly glad that no custom firmware has been released for the Duo. Instead of being paralysed through too much choice of roms, it’s great to just play the game cartridges you have.

I very much prefer collecting video games that are boxed… Unless it’s Nintendo and their stupid cardboard boxes. Are you always box, cart only or only certain systems like me?

Yes, “pal version” like it’s a selling point. “17% slower” “Now with more letterboxing” But back then I didn’t know any better. At least now I can run it like it was supposed to be.

It’s Friday, so why not show my day 1 copy of Street Fighter 2 on the snes. I remember skipping school and getting the bus to be outside the store at 8.55am. None of the staff had heard of it. £64.99 well spent, nearly 50% of the price of the Super Nintendo console itself!

Sometimes, even with all the emulation and fpga options… There is nothing like playing a physical game cartridge that you still have from back in the day.

Why do so many Nintendo Super Famicom carts have writing on them? Boxes and manuals are usually kept very well - but indelible ink on the front of game cartridges is quite common. Why is this?
