Yes but have you considered that if Dems don't win the popular vote they'll cave to pressure and let Republicans defy the Electoral College results? Oh wait oops did I just make the case that centrism's a door to authoritarianism and not a stopgap? Better hope this isnt tested in the next 20 years!
