The explanation is that when you express hatred toward "Zionists," it's hate speech against people of Israeli national origin and the 85% of the Jewish community who consider themselves Zionist (as in wanting Israel to go on existing.) So they get treated like any march hating a nationality.

What would you want to happen to a MAGA protest/encampment movement dedicated to making campus a "Chicom"-free zone, liberated from all Chinese people and Chinese sympathizers, as defined by the protesters? That's what those who hate "Zionists" also deserve. It's no different.
