ATTENTION VISUAL ARTISTS: Chicago University's 'Nightshade 1.0' Learning Algorithm 'poison' filter is now live for public use: Unlike 'Glaze', which only makes your art irreplicable, Nightshade actively damages any learning database it gets added to. nightshade.cs.uchicago.edu/downloads.html
Apart from art could this in theory also work for photos as well? Y'know to damage all the photorealistic generative garbage and deepfake stuff?
I'm so excited for this one
I think I need to learn how to use it... Would be hilarious if someone even tries to steal my art lol
You can use it with photos too, can't you?
I'm impressed - and happy - tools like this have appeared so quickly.
Do note that scrapers will adapt to this. Its very easy to just add an extra noise filter over the image that obviates any impact this might have.
Uber win for artists 😀
Can someone explain how this works? Is the pic still poisoned once posted to social media?
So what exactly does it do? It‘s changing the picture in a way so that an AI tool can’t copy it?
