Ibid., p. 39: „Radio can be a crucial memory object' in personal and interpersonal practices of remembering, whether in a small-scale setting or in actively-organized groups dedicated to 'old time' radio and its material heritages […] Objects, moreover, have a particular status within radiophilia, given the strong attachments of radio memories to objects like radio receivers or other souvenirs that can serve as 'memory devices' in acts of remembering, or in prompting certain moods such as nostalgia. Indeed, the perceived 'ephemeral' status of live radio is important in fuelling the desire to render radio sounds in tangible form, as recordings, and in cultural practices of collecting sets, recordings or other memorabilia.“
