Striking that education doesn’t make it into the list - arguably the only major policy area where the Conservative government improved the country (hence Labour explicitly saying they want to build on their policies, rather than radically change them).

AI is affecting the highly educated first; so higher education really needs to incorporate AI into its curriculum if it wishes to prepare students for the 2030s onwards. More focus is needed on AI-assisted learning & AI-assisted assessment, rather than simply on anti-AI policing.

It is disappointing how unimaginative they are in ripping off Trump’s unfalsifiable conspiracy theories, in this case the one about the “deep state”/“swamp”.

Not a claim I’m familiar with teachers making, in any kind of school. 😬 TBH I’m not surprised that non-teachers would be surprised (hence parents’ holidays). But I don’t think teachers by and large will be

Basically you’re saying to teachers (in both poorer & richer contexts): your work doesn’t really matter much, & doesn’t meet its stated objectives.

Dysfunctional things about UK political discourse #163: Journalists grilling politicians about “optics” (rather than about governance, their actual job). They’re essentially saying: “For the past three days we’ve been saying bad things about you - why did you let this happen?”
