If social media has taught me anything over the years, it’s to have an extremely loose blocking finger. Someone harassing you? Block. Post things that make you uncomfortable? Block. Slightly annoyed you? Block. Don’t like their vibes? Block. You can block anyone for any reason. +
Funnily enough, I rarely blocked people on twitter because I personally don't like blocking from merely having an argument. After the twitter blue, blue checkmark change? I probably have blocked tens of thousands of accounts on twitter now. I hate bluechecks with a passion.
Bluesky's block feature is so much better. I heard that if they have replies on your post, nobody can see it if they're blocked.
Don’t let people pressure you into thinking blocking them is cowardly or creating an echo chamber for yourself. Nobody is entitled access to you on any given day. People who whine about being blocked by someone have absolutely zero respect, and you don’t want those people around you.
you don't need a 'valid' reason. just bad vibes? BAMO
You dont gotta speak english for us dawg, we all understand platinum
In real life, if someone is harassing you or saying things you're not comfortable with; you either leave or get them removed from your space due to them being a nuisance. There's no difference to that scenario online. Always block when you don't want to deal with somebody.
