You can add alt text to videos, similar to Mastodon. But the feature should be renamed to explain why videos need alt-text for screen readers.

...Huh. I can't figure out what video format is even supported to be able to see what can be added, so that's good to know :') The few I have aren't. Which just begs the question 😖
