It's definitely a learning experience and sometimes I just don't get it and that can be frustrating for sure. But there's a sense of accomplishment from small victories and the satisfaction of knowing it's my own little janky piece of the internet to decorate! Trying to bring back 'indie' websites!
I literally just started building a site for a potential webcomic a little while ago! And by 'building' I mean, got some web space, installed wordpress and then the plug-in 'Toocheke' which I'm playing with. Hoping to do a little for fun webcomic in my free time just for the fun of it!
All of the above would be nice but honestly I'd just like it to do well enough that I could do it full time and pay my bills. If we're talking shoot for the moon then for it to do well enough that I could hire some friends to work on it with me and reach enough people with a positive message.
I've never been much good at the Pomodoro Technique but I've found listening to vinyls really helps with segmenting work time. And the maintenance of the discs and stuff can be quite meditative and relaxing. Plus its nice to just have music physically and give some songs a chance to grow on you.
Originally got a job in a comic store thinking it'd help, and that when I put out my own books I could put them on the stands alongside the 'real' comics. Ironically ended up running a store which ate all my time so I quit, got into comics and now I'm looking to self publish some stuff!
Reading them around 5 maybe. Doodling in notebooks around 10? Making webcomics in my teens. Running a comic store in my mid 20s. Working in actual comics in my 30s! I started taking working in comics seriously in my 30s and got into comics after a couple years of trying out!
I saw this posted randomly online and started telling people off for cropping your sig/url out. I didn't even think to check the original because I always assume the worst in reposters! Then I berenstein'd myself going through the S&F archives going "I swear these had name/urls on em" I'm losing it.
