much has been written about how much wizards love their fireballs, but if my current D&D campaign is any indication, polymorph is a lot more fun
I love me my cha based casters but give me Monk or Druid for ridiculous flavored silly any day of the week. I want to punch a balrog or maul it in Wild Shape.
what about turning into a fireball....what about turning into a fireball....
I just finished Baldur's Gate III, which was my first D&D experience of any kind, and I can confirm that I spent far more time wrecking dudes as an owlbear than I did chucking fireballs.
Had this on bookmark for every time our bard turned into a T-Rex. youtu.be/428IyxSfsls?...
HD version of iconic Holy Fucking Shit, It's a Dinosaur! Video (1080p) comes from remastered Blu-ray version of Jurassic Park. Audio is the same, except I managed to find it in 320kbps quality.
Polymorph is the spell for Maximum Chaos. I had a player use it to turn into a T-Rex that plowed a hole in a mansion while carrying an NPC in its mouth so the party could question them far away from the mansion.
Operation: Dino Drop. A flying character carries the druid (with invisibility ring) 510' into the air. Flyer drops druid. Druid wildshapes into invisible T-Rex, falls 500'. NEXT round, druid squishes bad guy AND does a full multiattack on him. "Why do I hear a whistling noise? OH NO."
as a gender fluid enby, this is correct.
The real fun in D&D is abusing things like Cantrip to do Bad Things
Consider this: wall of force used in front of a moving ship Portable iceberg!
It's so good. I once turned a guy into a sea slug and dropped him into the deep ocean.
