as someone who has never believed in the supernatural, I actually find this really helpful sometimes when the world doesn't seem fair at all it isn't, because fair isn't a thing the world cares about, but we can control what we do in response to that
The world isn't fair, but *we* can be.
Fair means different things to different people at different times. It simultaneously does and doesn't exist; just ask about it again regularly.
