now that we have word muting, it seems like a good time to point out to everyone that censoring trigger words bypasses people's mutes, forcing people who want to avoid those words to be confronted with them more often

yeah i dont even know why people do it on twitter and i fully just block them if its one of my triggers theyre censoring

Ooo, that seems like a great fit with marking things with content warnings--that way any post marked with those warnings will get muted. Which if you didn't want to see that in the first place seems a great way to curate your timeline.

Censoring words like that is kind of cringe anyway, this isn't TikTok and everyone knows what you're saying.

just mentioning this, because I really don't want to see a repeat of Twitter, where instead of muting one word, you have to mute every variation of it where someone could possibly add a * or substitute a letter with another symbol
