(worth noting this is a manmade specimen and not technically even a rock, BUT silicon carbide does occur naturally as moissanite!)
pretzel 🥨 jokes aside that is such a cool piece of sandstone!!
he is! i don’t see him much since he’s about 2 hours from me but when i do we wind up talking about rocks for HOURS
most of what he does is civic planning rather than fieldwork unfortunately but he’s still got some pretty interesting stuff! oh cool!! there’s not a lot where i am (it’s flat and pretty much exclusively red clay) but whenever i’m back east i love looking for geologic points of interest!
it’s so good to just sit and hold i feel like a wizard. 11/10 would orb again
youre so allowed dude
if there are anti-rock people they’ll be pro-rock by the time i’m done with them geology class sounds rad omg. my uncle’s a geologist and when i was younger his homework was super confusing and scary but now i’m like SHOW ME THE ROCK HOMEWORK !!! I WANT TO LEARN THEIR SECRETS !!!
ooo valid! i don’t have a lot of moonstone butb i’ll def get some good pics of my labradorite pieces for you! and yeah i get that, i looove minerals where you can tell what was going on while they were forming based on color or structure or breakage
i plan on it dw
