My video game hot take: Everyone making some sort of game or contributing to making one, released or not, a success or not, regardless of scale or role is a game dev and I respect the hell out of you.

Gamedev is so shit on all the time and I hate it. It takes long hours, difficult work, and a very sharp mind and typically after a game launches, that's when the layoffs happen.

The idea that this should be considered a hot take is ludicrous because games always have been (with exception to solo devs, who are just as valid) massive collabrative efforts and only elitist prats consider any core part of its development "Not game dev"
