I skimmed her scholar profile. It's thematically consistent memory/eye-witness stuff... there's a little on sexual assault which might brush up against some of these authors. These hype pieces always sucker one or two authors, tho. Hopefully not a sign of rot...

Yeah, I remember the same thing happening with that Harper's piece a few years back; a few people spoke up afterward and said "oops, I didn't get the context of this before, I don't actually want to be signing it" So I wonder if this is similar, especially given that it has so many authors.
