I’ll be honest, big dog: I’m not much older than you but welcome to the reality that oftentimes your choice with your vote is voting for the least bad outcome. Unfortunately progress takes time but abstaining from voting in an election determined on the margins can undo everything (gestures at 2016)

Of course everyone understands this. The point is that the Dems won't lose many established voters if they appeal to issues that matter to young people (and all of us in fact). But they are missing the opportunity to establish brand loyalty among the 4+ million who join the electorate every year.
