I used to think opposition to remote work was driven by The Olds. But I currently work for a millennial CEO who is rabidly anti-remote work. I've come to realize management opposes universal remote work because they believe remote work should be a privilege reserved for the elite

Management is willing to pay the extra expense associated with maintaining offices (rent, utilities, etc.) and lower productivity just to make sure workers don't get all the nice things management gets. It's that simple and that petty
