In case it wasn’t clear what kind of person the new Speaker Mike Johnson is, here is an OpEd he wrote advising that states should “discriminate” against “homosexual conduct” and suggesting they pass laws around “sexual conduct outside marriage.”

Sir Patrick Vallance wrote in his notepad that Mr Johnson said his party "thinks the whole thing is pathetic and Covid is just nature's way of dealing with old people - I am not sure I disagree with them."
