Wonderfully weird character designs, top-notch animation and visual direction, a lot of genuinely human character writing that's as misanthropic as it is charming, and a really great English dub. Absolutely not to be missed. bsky.app/profile/robb...
Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction (ONA): absolutely up there as an anime of the year contender. Every bit a compelling sci-fi narrative as it is a blunt-yet-earnest look at figuring out what to do with your life against world-shattering events (1/2)
Kyokuto Necromance: ...fuck I really forgot about this one, didn't I? Goes to show how eh it was... literally just Aliens Area but with not-Stands.
Hamilton (filmed version): Broadway musicals aren't really my forte, and while I don't think I would rewatch this of my own volition, there were a handful of things here and there I liked, mainly Daveed Diggs' performances/musical numbers which were all pretty on-point.
Helluva Boss: checked out Vivziepop's other major animated series. Similar vibe to Hazbin in terms of its comedic stylings and character writing, but this one definitely feels more fitting to youtube, if that makes sense. Moxxie is definitely my favorite character.
Psych House: not surprised this one got the axe by Shonen Jump given it was a pretty low-key series in terms of pacing and plot, but... idk, it had a bit of charm to it I guess.
Truth or Dare (2017 - Syfy, 2018 - Blumhouse) - saw two horror movies about truth or dare, and while they're not really that great, gotta hand to Blumhouse one 'cause it looked better and had slightly better characters. SyFy one is... definitely a syfy movie.
Goat Simulator 3: pretty amusing for a shitposty indie game and all, but I played the switch port which launched with a few bugs (not like "haha silly goat game physics" but like legit bugs) that got in the way of certain missions being completed, but it's been patched since then.
Naruto Shippuden (anime): itt feels weird to be at the end of its run. Even if I was never the biggest fan of the series, having that constant presence be gone from Toonami is gonna be kinda weird. ..now if only Boruto would stop.
Delicious In Dungeon (manga): decided to read through from where S1 of the anime leaves off, and man does that back half go to some really interesting places wrt food, the dungeon, etc. Absolutely a must-read, and I can't wait to see this material get adapted in S2.
