You can hardly miss red kites round here these days. Kingfishers might pop up anywhere along the Cam or its tributaries. The RSPB and the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire & Northamptonshire both maintain quite a few reserves nearby; and Wicken Fen, halfway to Ely, worth a go.
